Hello
As a therapist with a deep passion for supporting women through the unique challenges of life’s transitions. I specialize in postpartum depression, anxiety, and other emotional health challenges that many women face during significant life changes, such as pregnancy, motherhood, and midlife transitions. Becoming a mother, adjusting to new roles, or navigating complex life stages can bring unexpected emotional struggles. You may feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure about your emotions—these are normal experiences, but you don't have to face them alone.
My Story
Welcome! I’m Latia Trotter, and I’m so glad you’re considering therapy as a step toward emotional well-being. My journey in mental health began with a deep desire to understand human behavior and help others navigate their emotional landscapes. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed my graduate studies in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals across all ages—from children navigating anxiety for the first time to adults facing major life transitions. But there’s one area of my work that truly fills my heart: supporting women of color.
Creating a safe, compassionate space for women of color to share their stories, confront challenges, and heal is incredibly rewarding. As a woman of color myself, I understand the unique cultural, emotional, and societal pressures that can shape our lives. It’s an honor to work with clients in this community, fostering a therapeutic environment where growth, self-compassion, and resilience can flourish.
Outside of the therapy room, I believe in the power of self-care. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll likely find me relaxing with a good Netflix show or spending quality time with family and friends. Practicing what I preach about balance and well-being is essential to me, and I strive to bring that same energy of self-compassion and care to my clients.
