Meet your Therapist
Dr. Mitchell is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over 10 years of experience partnering with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her expertise includes trauma-related disorders and symptoms, depression, anxiety, anger management, domestic violence, career and phase of life changes, grief, loss, life stressors, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges.
Dr. Mitchell received both her bachelors and masters from Norfolk State University and has received her Doctorate of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a focus in Traumatology at Liberty University. Dr. Mitchell utilizes collaborative, strengths-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), mindfulness-based, and solutions-focused approaches in therapy while maintaining creativity, flexibility and the awareness necessary to best meet the needs of every unique individual, family, and couple.
